Compressed Air In The Chemical And Process Industry

Virtually all manufacturing industry uses compressed air. There are some industries however where the quality of the compressed air is critical.

The chemical and process industry being one such sector. There are too many processes to mention but to name a few, agitation and aeration blending of liquids, process instrumentation, pneumatic conveying and operation of devices where a spark may be dangerous. These are all examples of the reasons to use high quality, clean dry, oil free air.

BEKO TECHNOLOGIES AT AIR TECH 2014

metpoint-feb-13-1BEKO TECHNOLOGIES theme for the Airtech Exhibition 2014 will be “solutions capability”. The company specialises in compressed air, gas and condensate conditioning and there will be a working demonstration of some of the key products for monitoring and saving energy within a compressed air system. There will be a challenge to visitors to the stand to use the solutions technology and to test their knowledge of compressed air purity. There will be a lucky person who will receive an iPad 16GB Wi-Fi chosen from all those who are successful at the challenge.

BEKO TECHNOLOGIES have extended the product range significantly in the last few years notably by the addition of the EVERDRY range of “tailored” desiccant dryers, measurement technology with the flagship product METPOINT OCV being the best way to continuously monitor remaining oil vapour content. In the second quarter of 2014 a new product called METPOINT MMA will be launched. This product will monitor and record the limit values of O2, S O2, CO, Oxides of Nitrogen, H2O vapour and pressure in bars.

E2S adds SIL 2 compatibility to its horn and strobe families

haz-nov-14-1E2S adds SIL 2 compatibility to its horn and strobe families

Safety Integrity Level, SIL, is a measure of safety system performance expressed in terms of probability of failure on demand (PFD). In the oil and gas industry, particularly in the fire and gas detection systems where safety integrity is critical, SIL 2 is becoming a common standard across systems. To meet the growing demand in the oil & gas industry, E2S Warning Signals, the leading independent audible and visible warning device manufacturer, (Read More)

New iWAP107 - Releasing Wi-FI efficiency in Hazardous Area

iwap7-oct-14New iWAP107 - Releasing Wi-FI efficiency in Hazardous Area

The new iWAP107 system allows the latest MIMO Access Points from market leaders such as Cisco and Aruba to be easily deployed in Zone 1 hazardous areas, improving wireless performance and reliability. The system employs Extronics unique iSOLATE500 RF galvanic isolators which makes all RF outputs intrinsically safe. This allows standard non-certified antennas to be used; greatly reducing cost whilst providing significant performance gains. (Read More)

New Hydraulic Hoists Added To JD Neuhaus Range

sep-14-25New Hydraulic Hoists Added To JD Neuhaus Range

Hoists incorporating the latest generation of super silent hydraulics have now been added to the J D Neuhaus range of high performance lifting and handling equipment.

In both their Profi and EH monorail hoist ranges, units providing 75 and 100 tonne lift capacities have been added. Where heavy loads are lifted and transported in highly restricted spaces with only minimum headroom, then a JDN ultra-low monorail hydraulic hoist range has been introduced, (Read More)

REDUCED MANUAL HANDLING FOR SAFER BATTERY MANAGEMENT

sep-14-23REDUCED MANUAL HANDLING FOR SAFER BATTERY MANAGEMENT

Batteries for lift trucks and other motive power applications are usually chosen on the basis of their performance and whole life costs but for many operators an increasingly important factor is the safe handling of their power sources.

Making the right choices can help improve sustainability and health and safety compliance. (Read More)

Purpose Designed Hoists Are Suitable For Heavy Duty Underwater Operation

sep-14-22Purpose Designed Hoists Are Suitable For Heavy Duty Underwater Operation

Lifting and handling products manufactured by the J D Neuhaus company are engineered for performance, reliability and longevity when operating in extreme environments of dirt, dust, high humidity, and even potentially explosive atmospheres.

Some of the toughest and more unusual conditions are currently experienced by today’s underwater aquanauts. Divers are very often working alone, in conditions of variable depth water pressures and (Read More)

AVERTING COAL SELF-COMBUSTION WITH THERMAL IMAGING

sep-14-20AVERTING COAL SELF-COMBUSTION WITH THERMAL IMAGING

Gone are the days when thermal imaging was prohibitively expensive.

The cost of the technology has fallen exponentially with its take-up yet at the same time cameras have become even smarter and easier to use.  Indeed, the scope of thermal imaging is now way beyond the defence and law enforcement sectors where is was first commercially applied. (Read More)
