In a strategic move to kick start 2021, R. STAHL Ltd. and Norco Group Limited have officially joined forces to fulfil Central Battery System (CBS) supply, commissioning and service scopes.

The new alliance will see R. STAHL Ltd. working closely with the emergency power specialists. Norco Group Limited will be recognised and promoted as the official service partner for Central Battery Systems of R. STAHL Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Norco Group Limited will directly manage Commissioning and Service scopes on behalf of R. STAHL Ltd. The core aim is to ensure the full compliance of CBS fed emergency lighting systems without compromise.

After a year-long build, VEGA Controls have opened their own purpose-built training and seminar centre and UK head office at ‘Metior House’, Maresfield, in the heart of Sussex.

The facility benefits from almost 10,000 square feet of training and meeting facilities for VEGA customers and stakeholders to use. These include: over 15 working, hands-on equipment and application models of level and pressure technologies, sited in their own networked demonstration area; state of the art Av amenities; full sets of operational training equipment and interconnected desks to help train people to the highest standards. It also boasts a spacious cafe/dining room, with access to an outdoor seating and breakout area adjacent to woodland.

Hart Door Systems, the Newcastle upon Tyne-based specialist engineering company, has received its first order from Finland for its fast-action, security baggage-handling doors.

The order, for sixty security doors for check-in desks, is for Helsinki’s international airport, the largest in Finland which handles 20m passengers a year flying by a choice of 26 airlines to 135 destinations.

“This is excellent news for our staff. Over the Covid period we have won nine contracts for Airports from Hong Kong to Helsinki and in the UK Inverness and Sumburgh, Shetland Isles,” says Nick Hart, Hart’s managing director.

“We anticipate more export orders before the year-end. This shows our focus on design excellence for security doors and necessary product testing to comply with the requirements of very busy infrastructure projects such as airports, is paying off. To date over 800 Hart doors have been supplied in nearly 40 airports around the world.”

Peter Cairns, Hart’s Area Sales Manager, says there are several Hart doors on site already. “This depot is one of the busiest in the country, with an average of 250 carriages maintained there each night. We have several Speedors on site some of which were nearly 30 years old,” says Mr Cairns.

The latest contract was to replace the ageing Speedors in this very busy depot with Hart’s highly energy efficient, Insulated Roller Shutters.  “The installation was challenging requiring specific bracketing and in-fills for the new doors,” adds Mr Cairns.
