SFC Energy and Toyota Tsusho expand their cooperation to Southeast Asia and China

SFC Energy AG a leading international provider of direct methanol and hydrogen fuel cells for stationary and mobile hybrid power supply solutions, significantly expands its sales territory.

Together with Toyota Tsusho, SFC Energy brings the environmentally friendly and powerful hydrogen and direct methanol fuel cell systems around the EFOY series to further Southeast Asian country markets. From now on, Toyota Tsusho will exclusively distribute the units in Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam. At the same time, sales activities will start in the world's largest market for sustainable technologies: China.

Safer and Faster Chain Cutting with Enerpac Electric Cutters

Enerpac announces the ECCE-Series Electric Chain Cutters providing a faster, safer and more precise method than cutting with torches, angle grinders and cut-off tools. Capable of cutting 25mm chain in 35 seconds, and up to 16mm chain in just 6 seconds, the portable tools are ideal for cutting high-strength industrial chain.

Until now, chain cutting has typically involved torches, angle grinders and cut-off tools. The introduction of flames, shooting sparks, dust and smoke into the workplace is potentially hazardous, requiring operators to wear specialised PPE, including flame retardant clothing and respirators. The ECCE-Series Electric Chain Cutters provides a safer method of cutting for both the cutter operative and those close by.

High-performance seals for butterfly valves

In order to ensure that process plants meet hygiene requirements, industry-specific approvals and resistance to CIP/SIP media, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has developed a new series of high-performance seals for butterfly valves. The seals have been developed in conjunction with French customer Definox, one of the leading manufacturers of first class process valves and stainless steel equipment for high-end applications in sectors such as food, beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and animal feed.

Following rigorous tests, 70 EPDM 291 O-rings have already been delivered to Definox, where they have been successfully deployed and demonstrated. Based on this first success, both companies decided to launch a project for the development of new butterfly seals.

Why we use real data on all our ATEX fan performance curves

Getting the proper performance out of your fan is crucial whatever your application.

Some fan manufacturers carry out random tests on their fans, but very few test systematically across their whole range. We are committed to testing the performance of all our ATEX fans. So, we can guarantee that your fan performance curves use real data and not theoretical figures.

StuvEX  - Keeping factories safe.

StuvEx supplies a large range of products and systems to protect every part of the processing function from fires and explosions.

From the raw-product storage silo all the way through to final processing and packing, StuvEx will have it covered. Products that will detect a spark in a fraction of a second, systems which will protect every size of filter from the smallest to the largest. Valves which automatically shut to prevent propagation. Flash, a system that will immediately extinguish an explosion. Along with explosion panels that will safely vent an explosion into the atmosphere and products that will prevent the build-up of static electricity when powder is discharged from road tankers. If you are looking to install a new fire and explosion protection system or modify and improve an existing system, what follows may help.

New GRDE-4200 electronic grounding system with increased safety

Protection during the loading and unloading operations of liquids and dry inert material.

The GRDE-4200 electronic earthing system help to prevent fire and explosions in areas with hazardous levels of static electricity when trucks or trains load and unload liquids and dry materials.

Filling, dispensing, transporting and tipping materials into vehicles or containers generates static electricity simply through the movement of the material being processed or handled.

Seismic savings in blast protection

Seismic activity may be rare in the UK, but many buildings and critical infrastructure need to be protected from blasts.  The cost of specialised equipment capable of withstanding the forces and violent movement caused by seismic and blast activity can be extortionate. However, there is an alternative, more efficient way of providing this blast protection than the traditionally expensive ‘ruggedisation’ method. Here, Adam Fox, director of vibration control specialist Mason UK, explains how you can provide effective blast protection in projects, including where vibration isolation is also required.

Say ‘seismic activity’ in the UK and you might just think of a few damaged chimney pots. Yet while genuine seismic activity might be rare, the engineering expertise that is used to protect buildings from seismic activity still has relevant applications. Bomb blasts or terrorist activity can subject buildings and critical infrastructure to what is euphemistically referred to as ‘accidental loads.’

REMBE Safety Days Digital Home Edition – Online training by experts

In recent years, the ‘REMBE Safety Days’ series of events has repeatedly made Brilon a meeting place for global explosion safety and process safety. The content of the events was to present and discuss current topics in these areas as well as to create a platform for networking.

In November 2019, 150 participants from five continents were welcomed to the Sauerland region. Unfortunately, no live events can take place due to the current situation. In order to nevertheless enable such an important exchange of knowledge, REMBE is offering a digital version of the REMBE Safety Days.
