When it came to specifying a state of the art heating system for the hangars at the new flagship RAF Northolt site, there was only one choice – Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant tube heating from AmbiRad. Used extensively across many new and existing RAF sites, it is a proven, highly efficient system that promises considerable cost savings over its lifecycle.

The installation is part of the Ministry of Defence Estate’s Project MoDEL – a massive £180million investment and restructuring scheme to create a world class 21st Century ‘anchor site’ in London.

Providing rapid, targeted response to changing conditions, Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant tube heating offered the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) the unique opportunity to maintain a consistent temperature for two of their helicopter hangars.

For the Osprey Hangar situated at Portland, Dorset and the Daedalus Hangar at Lee on Solent, Hampshire, this solution provided the MCA with the best maintenance and storage conditions. Developed by the leader in efficient heating systems, AmbiRad, it meant that even when the vast doors were opened, the primary heat source was not lost.

The £650 million investment features 12 state-of-the-art colour printing presses, which cover an area the size of around 13 football pitches. As part of the project a complete compressed air solution, which included a dedicated moisture free air system for the sophisticated Agfa computer-to-plate (CTP) presses, was designed, supplied and installed by Airchannel.

BEKO Technologies have recently solved a major headache for Imperial Tobacco in Nottingham, England.The problem was caused when insurance inspectors condemned two old 10” flanged filters in the main plant room, the filters were in excess of 15 years old and suffered from significant corrosion.
